SELINSGROVE — The Athens girls won the meet-closing 400-yard freestyle relay to pull out wins over Selinsgrove and Jersey Shore here Tuesday afternoon, while the Wildcat boys, led by quad-winner junior Brayden Pettitt, rolled to wins over short-handed teams in non-league swimming action.

GIRLS
Athens 70, Selinsgrove 69
Athens 73, Jersey Shore 69

Seniors Olivia Thompson, Evelyn Panek, and Elizabeth Denlinger, and junior Kaitlyn Leonard teamed to win the meet-closing 400-yard freestyle relay in a time of 4:13.23 to pull out the wins for the Wildcats.

The same foursome also won the 200-yard relay in a time of 1:50.83

Thompson, Denlinger, Panek, and Leonard also won the 200-meter relay in a time of 2::04.84.

Thompson was the only Wildcat to win an individual event, placing first in the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 1:10.26, while Panek was third at 1:14.58.

Leonard finished second in the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 1:20.23, and Denlinger was second in the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:18.71.

Lyon finished fourth in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:32.21, and fourth in the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 1:07.62.

Senior Madeline Henderson was fourth in the 200-yard IM in 2:55.85.

BOYS

Junior Brayden Pettitt was a four-time winner, and senior Ty Lezak, junior Eli Hicks, Dominic Musick, and Jacob Shores were each triple-winners for the Wildcats in a pair of big wins.

Pettitt won the 200-yard IM in a time of 2:01.77, and freshman Shayan Ankam was second in 2:43.5.

Pettitt also won the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:01.86, and Ankam was second in 1:19.61.

Pettitt, Hicks, Musick, and Shores teamed to win the 200-yard freestyle relay in a time of 1:36.64.

The same foursome won the 400-yard freestyle relay.

Hicks won the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 23.65 seconds, and junior Corbin Smith was fourth in 36.81 seconds.

Musick won the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 56.5 seconds, and junior Kamden Knapp was third in 1:07.77.

Shores won the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:08.77, and junior Matt Rossettie was second in 2:22.36.

Lezak won the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 1:08.41, and sophomore Alexander Stedge was second in 1:37.8.

Lezak also won the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 1:17.14.

The foursome of Hicks, Shores, Musick and Lezak won the 200-yard medley relay in a time of 1:54.97.

Junior Austin Quattrini won the 500-yard freestyle.

Athens returns to action Friday at Central Columbia.
