TIOGA CENTER — On a night ruled by forfeits, Tioga split a pair of decisions, topping Owego, 30-19, and falling to Chenango Forks, 38-21, here Thursday night in Section IV girls wrestling action.

Tioga 30, Owego 19
Owego won two of the three contested weight classes, but Tioga had a 15-point advantage in forfeits to pull out a 30-19 win over the River Hawks.

Junior Amelia Toomey scored Tioga's only win of the match, decking Lauren Kotski in 37 seconds in their 138-pound bout.

Sophomore Vida Rossi (126 pounds), senior Sophia Haney (132), sophomore Cora Szymanski (145), junior Kyah Nelson (185) and freshman Emily Moniz (235) all received forfeits.

Chenango Forks 38, Tioga 21
Chenango Forks won four of the six contested weight classes in a 38-21 win over Tioga.

Toomey scored a 31-second fall over CF's Jillian Howell at 138 pounds, and junior Kyah Nelson pinned Jansen Derzanovich in 1:33 at 185 pounds for the Tigers' only wins on the mat in the match.

Rossi and Szymanski received forfeits for the Tigers.

Tioga returns to action Saturday at the IAC Championships at Watkins Glen.
