NTL GIRLS BASKETBALL: HUGE FIRST QUARTER PROPELS NP-M TO 63-11 WIN OVER SAYRE (January 22, 2026)

MANSFIELD — North Penn-Mansfield poured in 35 points in the first quarter, and cruised to a 63-11 romp over Sayre here Thursday night in NTL girls basketball action.

Maddie McNamara pumped in 18 first-quarter points, while Elaina Shaw knocked down a pair of 3-pointers and scored eight points, and Kam Lightner added seven points to fuel a 35-5 blitz in the opening eight minutes.

Lightner scored 10 points in the second quarter, and Addilyn Lehman had eight points in the third quarter as the Tigers outscored the Redskins 28-0 in the middle two quarter.

Sayre closed the game with a 6-0 spurt in the final eight minutes.

Senior Rylee Lantz led Sayre with six points, 10 rebounds and two blocked shots, while sophomore Emily Strickland added a 3-pointer, four rebounds, and two steals, and Brooklyn Roberts grabbed three boards.

McNamara led NP-M with 22 points, while Lightner scored 17 points, and Lehman added 10 points.

Sayre returns to action Saturday afternoon when it hosts Newfield.
