NTL BOYS BASKETBALL: ATHENS FALLS TO NORTHEAST BRADFORD, 55-47 (18 PHOTOS) (January 23, 2026)
Valley Sports ReportATHENS — Northeast Bradford built an 11-point lead through the first three quarters in a 55-47 win over Athens here Friday night in NTL boys basketball action.
Junior Lucas Schultz knocked down a 3-pointer and scored five points in the first quarter, but Northeast Bradford led 10-9 after the opening eight minutes.
Senior Eli Hobday and junior Kam Wheeler canned 3-pointers in the second quarter, but NEB extended its lead with a 13-11 advantage in the stanza, and led 23-20 at the halftime intermission.
Senior Nick Grazul connected on a 3-pointer and scored five points in the third quarter, and Hobday drained his second e-pointer, but Eli Stanton scored six points to spark the Panthers in an 19-11 run that pushed their lead to 42-31 heading into the final eight minutes.
Grazul pumped in eight points in the closing stanza and Schultz added six points in a 16-13 advantage.
Grazul led Athens with 16 points, while Schultz scored 11 points, senior James Friend added eight points, and Hobday chipped in with six points.
Athens, now 9-6 returns to action Monday when it hosts Wyalusing.
