NTL SWIMMING: ATHENS BOYS EARN THIRD WIN IN LESS THAN 24 HOURS; LADY WILDCATS FALL TO LEWISBURG (January 24, 2026)

ATHENS — Swimming for the second time in less than 24 hours, the Athens boys recorded a big win over Lewisburg here Saturday, while the Lady Wildcats fell in non-league swimming action.

On Friday, both Athens teams earned wins over Central Columbia and Wellsboro.

BOYS
Athens 106, Lewisburg 18

The Athens boys won 11 of 12 events on their way to a 106-18 win over Lewisburg.

Juniors Brayden Pettitt, Eli Hicks, and Jacob Shores were quad-winners for the Wildcats, and Dominic Musick was a triple-winner. 

Pettitt led a sweep in the 200-yard IM, winning in a time of 2:02.13, while freshman Shayan Ankam was second in 2:42.75, and sophomore Alexander Stedge was third in 3:05.22.

Pettitt also won the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:00.58, and Ankam was third in 1:17.57.

Hicks won the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 22.88 seconds, and junior Kamden Knapp was third in 31.56 seconds.

Hicks also won the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 51.08 seconds, and junior Matthew Rossettie was third in 59.03 seconds.

Shores won the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:06.37, and junior Austin Quattrini was second in 2:13.21.

Musick won the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 59.87 seconds, and senior Ty Lezak was second in 1:06.48. Musick finished second in the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 1:06.77.

Pettitt and Hicks teamed with Musick and Shores to win the 400-yard freestyle relay in a time of 3:35.17.

Pettitt, Musick, and Shores teamed with Lezak to win the 200-yard medley-relay in a time of 1:52.25

Hicks and Shores teamed with Lezak and Rossettie to win the 200-yard freestyle relay in a time of 1:41.92.

Stedge won the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 7:34.65.

GIRLS
Lewisburg 82, Athens 54

The Lady Wildcats only won two events in an 82-54 loss to Lewisburg.

Panek logged Athens' only win in an individual event, clocking in at 25.94 seconds to win the 50-yard freestyle. She finished second in the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 1:10.6.

Senior Kayla Marshall, junior Alana Reyes, sophomore Brooke Lyon, and freshman Peighton Henry teamed to win the 200-yard freestyle relay for the Wildcats in a time of 2:05.46.

Senior Elizabeth Denlinger finished second in the 200-yard free, clocking in at 2:08.82, and Lyon was third in 2:26.5.

Denlinger also finished second in the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:17.11.

Senior Olivia Thompson was second in the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 1:07.95.

Lyon finished second in the 100-yard free in a time of 1:06.36, and senior Kayla Marshall was third in 1:07.3.
