DISTRICT 4 WRESTLING: ATHENS FALLS TO SHIK, 39-26, IN CLASS AAA SEMIFINALS (16 PHOTOS) (January 31, 2026)

MILTON — Third-seed Shikellamy won five straight bouts late in the match to rally for a 39-26 win over second-seed Athens here Saturday afternoon in the semifinals of the District 4, Class AAA Duals at Milton High School.

Junior Lucas Persun got the Wildcats off to a nice start with a takedown midway through the overtime session for an 8-5 sudden-victory win over Keatin Lattimore at 133 pounds.

The Braves won by fall at 139 and 145, and Aydin Cox jumped out to a 9-0 lead, then held on for an 11-7 decision over Athens freshman Davis Janiszeski at 152 pounds to put them up 15-3.

The Wildcats roared by with tree consecutive falls to take a 21-15 lead.

Senior Ryan Howard started the run with a pin of Tristan Smith in 3:32 at 160 pounds, then junior Connor Davidson scored the fastest pin of the day at 172 pounds, decking Josiah Vovakes in 29 seconds.

Junior Brendan Cooke finished off the Wildcat run with a pin of Dominic Mojica in 1:55 at 189 pounds.

Christian Boetsch and Brody Rebuck scored consecutive falls at 215 and 285 pounds, respectively, put the Braves ahead for good, at 27-21.

Shik then pulled out consecutive hard-fought decisions, Austin Wolfe topping freshman Josh Saxon, 7-3, at 107 pounds, and Max Hallman scoring a takedown for a 5-2 sudden-victory win over freshman Chace VanDyke.

After an Athens forfeit at 121 pounds made it 39-21, Athens junior Zaine Campbell forged a 19-4 technical fall of Braylon Chestnut at 5:08 in the 127-pound finale.

(NOTE: Top-seeded Selinsgrove edged Shikellamy, 31-30, in the Class AAA finals.)

Athens returns Feb. 21 at the District 4, Class AAA Championships at Williamsport High School.
