SECTION IV CHEERLEADING: TIOGA PLACES THIRD IN CLASS D AT WILDCATS WINTER COMPETITION (February 1, 2026)

JOHNSON CITY — The Tioga cheerleading squad finished in third place in Class D at the Wildcats Winter Competition held here Saturday.

The Tigers scored 56.4 points, falling just a fraction of a point behind Newark Valley, which claimed runner-up honors with 56.75 points.

Seton Catholic finished first in the class with 59.85 points. Also competing in Class D were Spencer-Van Etten and Watkins Glen.

Horseheads was named grand champion, scoring 90.9 points during the event. The Blue Raiders won the Class B title with Maine-Endwell second in the class with 48.45 points.

Elmira won Class A with 69.3 points and Corning was second with 43. Waverly scored 55.1 points, taking second behind Chenango Valley in Class C competition. The Warriors posted a score of 73.35 points. Windsor was third with 53.25 points. Also competing in Class C were Susquehanna and Whitney Point.

The STAC championships will be held next Sunday at Union-Endicott. Newark Valley will host the IAC championships on Feb. 13. The Section IV championships will take place Feb.28 at Chenango Valley and the state championships will be held at Visions Veterans Memorial Arena on March 7.
