YOUTH WRESTLING: ATHENS LITTLE 'CATS CAPTURE TITLE AT YOUTH DUALS (February 4, 2026)
Valley Sports ReportATHENS —— The Athens Little 'Cats put together a dominant performance Sunday, going undefeated to win the Athens Youth Dual Meet Tournament in front of a large home crowd.
Athens finished the day with a perfect 6–0 record, showcasing depth across the lineup and strong teamwork throughout the round-robin format. The Little 'Cats consistently controlled matches, earning decisive victories and setting the tone from the opening round.
Wyalusing finished second with a 5–1 record, while Susquehanna Valley placed third at 4–2. The tournament featured competitive teams from across the region, providing valuable mat time and high-quality matchups for all wrestlers involved.
Athens edged Wyalusing, 37-36, in their opening-round match, and beat Susquehanna Valley, 48-27.
The Wildcats also beat Canton (43-33), Team NTL (36-9), Towanda, 39-30), and Southern Tioga (41-25).
The Athens roster featured athletes from multiple weight classes, with several wrestlers stepping up in key moments to secure team points and momentum. Representing Athens were:
