IAC BOYS BASKETBALL: STATE-RANKED UNION SPRINGS DELIVERS FROM LONG-DISTANCE IN 85-52 WIN OVER TIOGA (February 10, 2026)
Valley Sports ReportUNION SPRINGS — State-ranked Union Springs raced out to a quick double-digit lead, and cruised to an 85-52 win over Tioga here Tuesday night in IAC Large School crossover boys basketball action.
The Wolves, ranked 9th in the state in Class C, knocked down four of their 14 3-pointers in the first quarter, and built a 25-11 lead in the first eight minutes.
Union Springs ended any doubts in the second quarter with a 27-8 blitz to take a 52-19 lead into the halftime locker room.
Tioga picked up its offense in the third quarter, but Union Springs drained six more 3-pointers to outscored the Tigers, 24-20, to take a 76-39 lead into the final eight minutes.
Junior Gavin Kithcart led Tioga with 19 points and five rebounds, while junior Jackson Bombard had 14 points and seven assists, and senior James miller had 11 points, including two 3-pointers, and two assists.
Senior Dominic Palmer added five points and five rebounds for the Tigers, while senior Brady Landmesser and 8th-grader Jonah Palmer pulled down four and three rebounds, respectively.
Rocco Testa led Union Springs with 24 points with three 3-pointers, and Cooper DeChick added 18 points, including five 3-pointers.
Tioga, now 9-9, returns to action Saturday afternoon at Watkins Glen.
