VALLEY SPORTS REPORT: WAVERLY'S SHAW, ATHENS' CUMMINGS, JARVIS NAMED BISHOP BROTHERS CONSTRUCTION 'ATHLETES OF THE WEEK' (February 11, 2026)

THE VALLEY — Waverly senior Hogan Shaw hit a career milestone, while Athens freshman Evelyn Cummings won her first tournament in her new weight class, and Athens junior McKenna Jarvis had a big week. They are the VSR / Bishop Brothers Construction "Athletes of the Week," for the week ending Jan. 31.

WAVERLY'S SHAW NAMED BISHOP BROTHERS CONSTRUCTION BOYS 'ATHLETE OF THE WEEK'
Shaw averaged 20.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 3 steals per game, and also netted his 1,000th career point.

Shaw had 28 points, four rebounds, three assists, and four steals in 59-52 at Lansing. He netted his 1,000th point with a free throw late in the game.

Shaw had 13 points, five rebounds, and two steals in 64-52 loss to Norwich

ATHENS' SHAW, JARVIS NAMED BISHOP BROTHERS CONSTRUCTION GIRLS 'ATHLETES OF THE WEEK'
Cummings, the sixth seed, was 4-0 — all by fall — to win the 190-pound bracket at the Williamsports Girls Wrestling Showcase.

Cummings, who dropped down from 235, won her first three bouts in 41 seconds, 2:29, and 3:30.

Cummings then beat the first-period buzzer with a pin of Central Columbia's top-seeded Morgan Reichard in the finals.

Jarvis averaged 24.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1 assist and 4 steals per game in two games for the Wildcats. She also had six 3-pointers in the two games.

Jarvis had 29 points, including five 3-pointers, three rebounds, two assists, and four steals in a big win over Sayre

Jarvis then had 20 points, four rebounds, and four steals in a 48-37 loss to Towanda
