THE VALLEY — The best wrestlers in Section IV gather at Visions Veterans Memorial Arena for the girls wrestling championships here Friday afternoon.

The champion in each weight class will earn a berth at the N.Y. State Championships with Section IV getting a second automatic qualifier at 100, 120, 126, 132, 138, 145, 165, and 185 pounds. 

The following Waverly and Tioga wrestlers are seeded in the top eight in the listed weight class:

100 pounds: Waverly freshman Gianna Rylott (18-15) is the third seed.

107 pounds: Waverly senior Sydney Rosenbloom (7-4) is the eighth seed.

114 pounds: Waverly junior Abby Sickler (16-12) is the sixth seed, and Tioga senior Mia Hall (18-16) is the eighth seed.

126 pounds: Waverly 7th-grader Amelia Wright (30-15) is the sixth seed, and Tioga senior Sophia Haney (17-15) is the eighth seed.

132 pounds: Waverly senior Emma Vanderhoof (32-8) is the third seed.

138 pounds: Tioga junior Amelia Toomey (34-2) is the second sed, and Waverly 8th-grader Jillianna Presher (18-16) is the seventh seed.

145 pounds: Tioga junior Marcy Moniz (16-7) is the third seed, and Waverly freshman Gianna Zieniuk (29-10) is the fifth seed.

152 pounds: Waverly senior Elona Holmes (25-9) is the third seed.

185 pounds: Tioga junior Kyah Nelson (17-7) is the second seed.
