Corning sophomore Nolan Proudfoot is on a historic scoring tear, while Waverly sophomore Ryleigh Judson had a good week on the hardwoods, and Athens senior Evelyn Panek had a strong showing at the Coaches Invitational. They are The Sports Reports / Ziff Law Firm Regional "Athletes of the Week," for the week ending Feb. 7.

CORNING'S PROUDFOOT NAMED ZIFF LAW FIRM REGIONAL BOYS "ATHLETE OF THE WEEK"
Proudfoot broke Corning's school record with a 50-point game in a win over Canisteo-Greenwood and has averaged over 42 points a game over his past four games. 

Proudfoot has had three 40 -point games in his past four games. He’s also averaged double digits in rebounds during that stretch from his guard position.

Proudfoot has led Corning to an unbeaten season, the first for the Corning Hawks program, and first in Corning since Corning West did it 24 years ago.

WAVERLY's JUDSON, ATHENS' PANEK NAMED ZIFF LAW FIRM REGIONAL GIRLS "ATHLETE OF THE WEEK"
Judson averaged 19.5 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal in two games for the Wolverines. She also had five 3-pointers.

Judson led Waverly with 19 points, including a pair of 3-pointers, three rebounds and two assists in 61-51 win over Oneonta

She had 20 points, including a trio of 3-pointers, three rebounds, and two steals in a loss to state-ranked Forks

Panek had four top-four finishes, including a pair of second-place individual finishes at the 19-team Coaches Invite.

Panek placed second in the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 25.75 seconds and was second in the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 57.02 seconds.

She also swam on the third-place 200 free relay and the fourth-place 400 relay.
