DISTRICT 4 GIRLS WRESTLING: NASON WINS THIRD DISTRICT TITLE; ATHENS ADVANCES SIX TE REGIONALS (17 PHOTOS) (February 14, 2026)

WILLIAMSPORT — Senior Leah Nason won another title, and five of her teammates also placed in the top four here Saturday at the District 4 Girls Wrestling Championships to advance to the PIAA Central Region Championships on Feb. 28.

Junior Abigail Wagner and senior Hanna Rathbun were each runners-up, while junior Joyce Clink finished third, and sophomore Alyssa Rinebold and freshman Skylynn Payne each placed fourth.

The Wildcats finished fourth in the team standings with 149 points, well off the pace of District 4 champ Shiikellamy, which tallied 186 points. Hughesville was second with 161 points, Montgomery was third with 155, and Williamsport was fifth with 123.

Nason, the top seed, was 3-0 to win her third consecutive 235pound district title.

Nason flattened Isabella Snyder of Sugar Valley in 15 seconds in the quarterfinals, then decked fourth-seeded Aryanna McGinley of Mount Carmel in 63 seconds in the semifinals.

In the finals, Nason turned second-seeded Adelyn Rine of Montgomery midway through the second period to take a 4-0, then turned her again and finished off the fall at 3:54.

Wagner, the second seed, was 2-1 to place second in the 170-pound bracket after winning it each of the last two years.

In the quarterfinals, Wagner built a 9-1 lead on Wellsboro's Riley Kilburn before finishing off the fall at 3:47.

In the semifinals, Wagner gave up an early takedown to third-seeded Daphney Bingaman, but scored a reversal and four near-fall points to take a 6-3 lead on her way to a 9-6 win.

In the finals, Wagner scored a takedown at the first-period buzzer to take a 3-0 lead into the second period against top-seeded Finley Boetsch of Shikellamy.

Boetsch scored an escape, a takedown and two near-fall points before the match was stopped due to an injury to Wagner. Boetsch was declared the winner via injury default at 3:34.

Rathbun, the second seed, was 3-1 to finish second in the 130-pound weight class. It was her second runner-up finish at Districts in three years.

Rathbun decked Mifflinburg's Lyla Bodman in 37 seconds in the the opening round, then pinned Alayna Graham of Milton in 1:21 in the quarterfinals.

In the semifinals, Rathbun built a 13-0 lead on Shikellamy's Aubrey Rebuck before finishing off the fall at 4:34.

In the finals, Rathbun, who joined the 100 career win club earlier this season, lost via a 16-1 technical fall to Northeast Bradford's Anaiah Kolesar, who is a three-time state place-winner.

Clink, the third seed, was 3-1 to finish third in the 118-pound bracket for her best career finish at Districts. She was fifth at 124 pounds last year.

Clink opened her day with a 33-second pin of Muncy's Zoe Kunkle in the quarterfinals, then dropped a 6-2 decision to second-seeded Arihana Moore of Hughesville in the semifinals. Moore's takedown midway through the third period sealed the win.

Clink bounced back in the consolation semifinals with a 6-3 wi per Shikellamy's fourth-seeded Skyler Wiest, scoring a takedown with 11 seconds remaining to ice the win.

In the the third-place match, Clink pinned Kunkle again, this time in 60 seconds.

Rinebold, the sixth seed, was 4-2 to finish fourth in the 106-pound bracket. Rinebold also finished fourth last year at 100 pounds.

Rinebold started her day with a 37-second pin of Southern Columbia's Presley Alzate int he opening round, then dropped an 8-3 decision to third-seeded Julien Steckley in the quartefinals.

Rinebold bounced back with three straight fall, beginning with Montoursville's Keira Drese in 3:22.

In the consolation quarterfinals, Ribebold pinned Shikellamy's Hailey Evans in 2:09. She made it three in a row with a pin of Mifflinburg's Autumn Dersham in 2:12 in the consolation semifinals.

In the third-place match, Rinebold lost via third-period fall to Steckley.

Payne, the sixth seed, was 3-2, to finish fourth in her first trip to Districts.

Payne started her day with a 40-second fall over Mount Carmel's Haley Johnson in the opening round.

In the quarterfinals, Payne lost to third-seeded Taylor Stewart of Mifflinburg via 31-second fall.

Payne bounced back with a pin of Milton's Hailey King in 1:41, then pinned Wellsboro's Phoebe Bowen in 1:37 in the consolation semifinals.

In the third-place match, Payne led Stewart 3-0 with a second-period takedown, but Stewart reversed her to her back for a fall at 2:35.

Sophomore Hailey Brinkley was 2-2 in the 100-pound weight class. She won a wild 19-12 decision over Sugar Valley's Abby Immel in the opening round, taking control with a reversal and four near-fall points at the end of the second period to take a 16-12 lead into the final two minutes.

Brinkley's second win was a pin of Mifflinburg's Lillian Frederick in 2:16. She led 10-0 at the time.

Sophomore Memphis Paul was 2-2 in the 136-pound bracket. She scored a fall of Sugar Valley's Skylynn Taylor in 60 seconds, and a 21-6 technical fall of Jersey Shore's Elliana Herr in 3:51.

Freshman Chelsey Renninger was 1-2 in the 142-pound bracket, with her lone win a 54-second fall over Jersey Shore's Carsyn Sobeich.

Junior Makayla Brinkley was 1-2 in the 124-pound bracket, with her lone win a pin of Hughesville's Carsyn Stout in 2:39.

Freshman Mya Burke was 1-2 in the 112-pound bracket with her lone win a 23-6 technical fall of Jersey Shore's Makenna Brininger at the third-period buzzer.

Athens returns to action Feb. 28 at the PIAA Central Region Championships at Milton High School.
