DISTRICT BASKETBALL: ATHENS BOYS, GIRLS OPEN POSTSEASON PLAY ON ROAD THIS WEEK (February 15, 2026)

Valley Sports Report
THE VALLEY — The Athens boys and girls will both open postseason play on the road this week in the district playoffs.

The girls will play in the District 4, Class 4A playoffs, while the Wildcat boys will play in through District 11 due to there only being three 5A teams in District 4.

DISTRICT 11, CLASS 5A BOYS
Athens (15-9) is the fifth seed, and will travel to Blue Mountain High School Friday to take on fourth-seeded Southern Lehigh (14-8) at 6 p.m. in the quarterfinals of the District 11 playoffs.

The winner will face the winner of the game between top-seeded Pottsville (16-6) and eighth-seeded Jim Thorpe (10-12).

On the bottom of the bracket, second-seeded Blue Mountain (15-7) hosts seventh-seeded Shikellamy (11-11), and third-seeded Selinsgrove (15-7) hosts sixth-seeded Bangor (11-11).

DISTRICT 4, CLASS 4A GIRLS
Athens (10-12) is the eighth-seed and will travel to face top-seeded Central Columbia (22-0) Thursday at 7 p.m.

The winner will square off with the winner of the game between fourth-seeded Lewisburg (11-11) and fifth-seeded Milton (11-11).

On the bottom of the bracket, second-seeded Mifflinburg (13-9) hosts seventh-seeded Danville (9-13), and third-seeded Jersey Shore (13-9) hosts sixth-seeded Shamkoin (10-12).
