SECTION IV BOYS BOWLING: WAVERLY FINISHES THIRD AT CLASS B CHAMPIONSHIPS (February 21, 2026)
Valley Sports ReportVESTAL — Senior Derek Johnson rolled a big 600 series to lead Waverly to a third-place finish Saturday at the Section IV, Class B Championship here at Midway Lanes.
Owego won the Class B title with a three-game set of 2,815, while Johnson City was second with 2,781, and Waverly tallied 2,765. Maine-Endwell was fourth with a 2,686, and Vestal was fifth at 2,164.
Johnson banged out a 680 series on games of 208, 237, and 235, while freshman Colten Santalucia shot a 574, including a 205, and sophomore Griff Walter rolled a 562 series.
Junior Maison Apgar had a 508 for the Wolverines, while Camden Leary shot 160 in a game, Trevor Allen had a 147, and Tristan Campbell tacked on a 134.
Waverly returns to action Friday in the Section IV State Qualifier at the Valley Bowling Center.
