DISTRICT 4 DIVING: ATHENS' GRUBB FINSHES SECOND AS CLASS AA CHAMPIONSHIPS; PUNCHES TICKET TO STATES (February 21, 2026)
Valley Sports ReportBLOOMSBURG — Athens senior Penelope Grubb finished second Saturday at the District 4, Class AA Girls Diving Championships here at Bloomsburg High School and punched her ticket the PIAA Championships.
Grubb had a career-best 11-dive score of 246.7 to edge out third-place finisher Leah Hasenblag of Danville, who tallied 235.75 points.
Izzy Marks of Danville won the District 4 title with a mark of 316.2 points.
On the boys side, Shamokin divers finished 1-2 with Rhyan Hens claiming the District 4 title with 468.6 points, and Aiden Phinazee with 385.85 points.
Towanda's Brennick Lain placed third with 344.2 points.
Grubb advanced to the PIAA Swimming and Diving Championships March 13-14 at Bucknell University.
The District 4 AA Swimming Championship is Wednesday and Thursday at Williamsport High School, beginning at 5:30 p.m. each night.
The Athens boys return as defending District 4 team champions, while Danville is the defending girls champ.
