SECTION IV INDOOR TRACK & FIELD: CHAMBERLAIN, SOPRANO, DOHERTY PACE WAVERLY AT STATE QUALIFIER (15 PHOTOS) (February 21, 2026)
Valley Sports ReportITHACA — Seniors Mackenzie Chamberlain and Aiden Doherty had the best individual performances, and a pair of relays cracked the top-seven for Waverly here Friday night at the Indoor Track & Field Championships here at Ithaca College.
Waverly's 800-meter relay posted the best finish of the day for the Wolverines. The foursome of senior Andrew Larrabee, juniors Jayden Washington and Chase Hine, and sophomore Jaxon Chandler finished third in a time of 1:39.65.
The girls 1,600-meter relay had the best finish for the girls. The foursome of senior Haley Larrabee, and sophomores Gianna Soprano, Tressa Allen, and Addison Temple finished seventh in a time of 4:34.95.
Chamberlain finished eighth in the 3,000-meter run in a time of 11:56.08.
Soprano finished ninth in the 300-meter dash in 46.16 seconds, and Larrabee was ninth in the 600-meter run in a time of 1:51.01.
Freshman Anna Fassett was ninth in the weight throw with a toss of 25-feet, 7 1/4-inches, and senior Madison Cron was 12th in 24-feet, 1 3/4-inches.
Doherty finished 10th in the weight throw with a mark of 42-feet, 11 1/4-inches.
Jaxon Chandler was 12th in the 55-meter hurdles in a time of 9.22 seconds.
Jaxon Chandler was also 12th in the high jump at 5-feet, 4-inches, and freshman Wyatt Chandler was 17th at 5-feet, 4-inches.
Washington, Hine, and seniors Hayden Howe and Logan Roskow teamed to finish 12th in the 1,600-meter relay in a time of 3:55.37.
Hine was 15th in the 1,600-meter run in a time of 4:59.62.
Howe finished 16th in the 300-meter dash in 40.71 seconds, and Wyatt Chandler was 19th in 41.15 seconds.
Roskow was 20th in the 600-meter run in a time of 1:34.26.
The New York State Indoor Track & Field Championships is set for March 6-7 at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex, located on Staten Island.
