THE WEEK AHEAD: N.Y. STATE WRESTLING HEADLINES BUSY WEEK OF POSTSEASON ACTION (February 23, 2026)

THE VALLEY — Postseason wrestling wraps up this weekend in New York State, while South of the Border wrestlers and swimmers vie for coveted berths in their respective PIAA Championships. On the hardwoods, the New York State hoop playoffs get under way, and the Section IV Bowling State Qualifiers will be at the Valley Bowling Center.

There are 14 events, including five on Friday and five on Saturday.

MONDAY (0)

TUESDAY (0)

WEDNESDAY (2)
•  It's Day 1 of the District 4 Boys & Girls Swimming Championships at Williamsport High School.

•  Tioga opens the Section IV, Class C boys basketball playoffs at Unatego.

THURSDAY (2)
•  Tioga and Waverly will each have two wrestlers at the New York State Girls Wrestling Championships at the MVP Arena in Albany.

•  It's Day 2 of the District 4 Boys & Girls Swimming Championships at Williamsport High School.

FRIDAY (5)
•  Sayre's Jordan Brown will be in action at Day 1 of the Northeast Regional Class AA Boys Wrestling Championships at Williamsport High School.

•  Five Athens wrestlers will be in action at Day 1 of the Northeast Regional Class AAA Boys Wrestling Championships at Bethlehem-Liberty High School. 

•  Tioga will have seven grapplers in action, and Waverly will have five at Day 1 of the New York State Wrestling Championships at the MVP Arena in Albany.

•  Waverly opens the Section IV, Class A Girls Basketball playoffs at Owego for a quarter-final match-up.

•  Waverly and Tioga will compete at the Section IV Boys Bowling State Qualifier at the Valley Bowling Center in Waverly.

SATURDAY (5)
•  It's Day 2 of the New York State Wrestling Championships at the MVP Arena in Albany.

•  It's Day 2 of the Northeast Regional Class AA Boys Wrestling Championships at Williamsport High School.

•  It's Day 2 of the Northeast Regional Class AAA Boys Wrestling Championships at Bethlehem-Liberty High School. 

•  Six Athens wrestlers will be in action at Central Regional Girls Wrestling Championships at Milton High School. 

•  Waverly and Tioga will compete at the Section IV Girls Bowling State Qualifier at the Valley Bowling Center in Waverly.
