NEW YORK STATE WRESTLING: NINE OF 12 VALLEY WRESTLERS — SEVEN TIOGA, FIVE WAVERLY — AT DIVISION 2 CHAMPIONSHPS SEEDED IN TOP-8 (February 25, 2026)

ALBANY — Twelve Valley wrestlers — seven Tioga and five Waverly — will be in action beginning Friday at the New York State Division 2 Boys Wrestling Championships here at the MVP Arena. Of the 12, nine are seeded in the top-8, and only two will wrestle in the opening round.

Tioga junior Declan McKee is the 1-seed in the group of 12, while Tioga senior Jayden Duncanson is a 2-seed, Waverly junior Troy Beeman is a 3-seed, and Waverly senior Cooper Robinson and junior Matthias Welles are 4-seeds.

The following are the seeds and initial match-ups for the 12 Valley wrestlers:

103 Pounds
Tioga sophomore Drayke Ulrich (36-11) is the seventh seed and will get a bye into the round-of-16, where he will face Owego 7th-grader Gavin Lovell (28-8).

The winner will likely face second-seeded Max Hanselman (29-1), an 8th-grader from Lowville, in the quarterfinals.

110 Pounds
McKee (38-2), a reigning state champion, receives a bye into the round-of-16, where he will face the winner of the opening-round match between 16th-seeded Nathan Jacoby (27-9) of Collegiate School and 17th-seeded Brody Santora (35-4) of Bayport-Blue Point.

Tioga sophomore Parker Jackson (23-16) is the 21st seed and will face 12th-seeded Carmelo Massey (28-5 of Red Hook in the opening round.

The winner will face fifth-seeded Arlo Brouillette (27-7) of Vernon-Verona-Sherrill.

118 Pounds
Tioga senior Logan Bellis (28-8), a two-time state place-winner, is the fifth seed and will face the winner of the opening-round match between 12th-seed Joel Diaz (33-4) of Seaford and 21st-seed Nate Bloom (22-15) of Miller Place in the round-of-16.

126 Pounds
Waverly junior Rhylee Stotler (38-8) is the fifth seed and will receive a bye into the round-of-16, where he will face the winner of the match between 12th-seed Kelvin Jimenez  (32-6) of Sleepy Hollow and 21st seed Colby Roesler (33-9) of Saranac.

The winner will likely face fourth-seed Barrett David (39-1) of South Seneca. In the quarterfinals.

Tioga senior Kadin Cole (29-9), a third-place State placer as a sophomore, is the seventh seed and will face 10th-seeded Dylan Newman (39-8) of Falconer in the round-of-16.

The winner will likely face second-seed Jake Burton (37-9) of Marcellus-Onondaga in the quarterfinals.

138 Pounds
Tioga senior Jayden Duncanson (37-2), a four-time state place-winner, is the second seed and receives a bye into the round-of-16, where he will face the winner of the opening-round match between 14th-seeded Justin D'Alessio (24-7) of Hackley and 19th-seeded Mason Dusharm (29-12) of Gouverneur.

Waverly senior Daltton Davis (39-9) is the ninth-seed and received a bye in the round-of-16, where he will square off with eighth-seeded Nate Verri (31-6) of Little Falls.

The winner will likely face top-seeded Landyn Shaffer (42-1) of Deposit-Hancock in the quarterfinals.

144 Pounds

Tioga junior Caden Bradley (21-15) is the 22nd seed and will square off with 11th-seeded Nathan Warrior (49-4) of Gowanda in the opening round.

The winner will face sixth-seeded James Chase (36-3) of Avon-Geneseo in the round-of-16.

157 Pounds
Waverly senior Cooper Robinson (34-6) is the fourth seed and receives a bye into the round-of-16, where he will face the winner of the opening-round match between 13th-seeded Gunnar Gibbons (34-6) of Maple Hill and 20th-seeded Toby Carmel (26-9) of Collegiate School.

215 Pounds
Waverly junior Matthias Welles (38-4), a two-time state place-winner who missed last year's tournament with a leg injury, is the fourth seed and receives a bye into the round-of-16, where he will face the winner of the opening-round match between 13th-seeded Emmanuel Celaya Lavariege (24-4) of Red Hook and 20th-seeded Nathan Boyles (34-5) on Unatego-Unadilla Valley-Franklin.

285 Pounds
Waverly senior Troy Beeman (34-5), a state champ two years ago and runner-up last year, is the third seed and receives a bye into the round-of-16, where he will face the winner of the opening-round match between 14th-seeded Freddy Lemus (37-4) and 19th-seeded Cayne Grimm (17-3) of Ogdensburg.
