YOUTH BASKETBALL: WAVERLY CLAIMS EPIPHANY TOURNEY TITLE WITH 4-0 RECORD (February 25, 2026)
Valley Sports ReportSAYRE — Waverly won four straight games to win the 2026 Epiphany Boys Basketball Tournament, beating Maine-Endwell in back-to-back games to claim the title.
Waverly's Braiden Judson was named the tournament MVP, while Maddex Presher, Brody Lambert, and Axel Murray were named to the tournament all-star team.
Waverly opened the tournament with a 79-26 win over Towanda in the quarterfinals. Judson led five scorers in double-figures with 20 points, while Presher scored 17, Lambert and Drew Croft added 11 points apiece, and Murray chipped in with 10 points.
In the semifinals, Waverly topped Corning, 56-38. Judson led Waverly with 14 points, while Presher added nine, and Croft, Lambert, and Murray added seven points apiece.
Waverly took down M-E, 55-44, in the winner's bracket finals, with Lambert leading the way with 21 points. Judson scored 16 points in the win, while Presher added 13, and Croft chipped in with 11.
M-E topped Corning in the consolation bracket finals to earn another shot at Waverly, but the Wolverines prevailed, 56-50, in the championship game.
Judson and Murray led Waverly with 14 points apiece in the title game, while Brycen Fiske scored seven, Lambert and Presher added six points apiece, and Croft and Ian Johnston chipped in with four points each.
