DISTRICT 4 GIRLS SWIMMING: PANEK RECORDS PAIR OF THIRD-PLACE FINISHES TO PACE ATHENS AT DAY 1 OF DISTRICTS (February 25, 2026)
Valley Sports ReportWILLIAMSPORT — Senior Evelyn Panek had a pair of top-three finishes to pace Athens here on Day 1 of the District 4, Class AA Girls Swimming Championships at Williamsport High School.
The Wildcats are in fourth place in the team standings with 108 points. Danville leads the field with 182 points, while Bloomsburg is second with 154 points, Lewisburg is third with 145 points, and Milton is fifth with 105 points.
Panek was third in the 50-yard freestyle in a school-record time of 25.5 seconds, while senior Olivia Thompson was sixth in 26.43 seconds, senior Kayla Marshall was 17th in 29.27 seconds, and sophomore Brooke Lyon was 22nd in 29.47 seconds.
Panek and Thompson teamed with senior Elizabeth Denlinger and junior Kaitlyn Leonard to finish third in the 200-yard freestyle relay in a school-record time of 1:44.74.
Senior Madeline Henderson, junior Alana Reyes and Marshall, and Henderson teamed to finish seventh in the 200-yard medley relay in a time of 2:15.29.
Henderson was 11th in the 200-yard IM in a time of 2:37.17.
Day 2 action begins Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
