Valley Sports ReportTHE VALLEY — Four Valley wrestlers are still alive for New York State titles, and six more for state medals, while five are still vying for berths at the PIAA Wrestling Championships on a busy Saturday of action.
BOYS WRESTLING
New York State Championships, 9:30 a.m. @ MVP Arena, Albany: Tioga junior Declan McKee and senior Jayden Duncanson, and Waverly seniors Cooper Robinson and Troy Beeman reached Saturday morning's semifinals.
Tioga seniors Logan Bellis and Kadin Cole, and sophomore Drayke Ulrich, along with Waverly juniors Rhylee Stotler and Matthias Welles, and senior Dalton Davis are alive in wrestlebacks and one win away of ensuring themselves of a state medal.
Northeast Region Class AAA Championships, 5 p.m. @ Bethlehem-Liberty H.S.: Athens junior Connor Davidson reached Saturday morning's semifinals, while juniors Brendan Cooke, Lucas Persun, and Zaine Campbell, and freshman Chace VanDyke are alive in wrestlebacks.
Northeast Region Class AA Championships, 10 a.m. @ Williamsport H.S.: Sayre junior Jordan Brown went 1-1 Friday night and is alive in wrestlebacks.
GIRLS WRESTLING
Central Region Championships, 10 a.m. @ Milton H.S: Three-time District 4 champion senior Leah Nason leads six Lady Wildcats wrestlers into the Central Region Championships
Senior Hanna Rathbun, juniors Abigail Wagner and Joyce Clink, sophomore Alyssa Rinebold and freshman Skylynn Payne will also vie for a trip to the PIAA Championships.
GIRLS BOWLING
Section IV State Qualifier, 9 a.m. @ VBC, Waverly: Tioga and Waverly will both vie for a berth at the Division 2 state championships.
