NTL BOYS TRACK & FIELD: WELLSBORO EDGES ATHENS IN SEASON-OPENING QUAD MEET (16 PHOTOS) (March 25, 2026)
Valley Sports ReportATHENS — Athens sophomore Patrick Umber won a pair of individual events, and junior Ryder Morley and seniors Chase Ingram and Brendan Comstock each won one event, but Wellsboro came out on top in the NTL boys track & field quad meet here Wednesday at Alumni Stadium.
The Hornets tallied 114 points, while Athens had 108 points, Canton was third with 36 points, and Sayre had 7 points.
Umber won the 100-meter dash in a time of 11.62 seconds, while junior Ryder Morley was second 11.65 seconds, and senior Ryan Cook was fourth in 11.77 seconds.
Umber won the 400-meter dash in 55.02 seconds, while senior Alex Thompson was second in 55.63 seconds, and junior Holden McKeever was third in 59.59 seconds.
Morley won the 200-meter dash in 24.04 seconds, while Cook was second in 24.09 seconds, Umber was third in 24.09 seconds, and junior Brayden Westbrook was fourth in 24.84 seconds.
The Wildcat 400-meter relay foursome placed first in the event in a time of 46.26 seconds.
Ingram won the pole vault, clearing the bar at 10-feet, 6-inches, and McKeever was second at 9-feet.
Comstock won the discus with a toss of 134-feet, 8-inches. He also placed third in the shot put with a heave of 41-feet, 5 3/4-inches.
Freshman Izaiah Bailey and junior Christopher Moore finished second in the high jump at 5-feet, 2-inches. Bailey finished third in the triple jump with a mark of 35-feet, 7 1/2-inches.
Ingram finished third in the 110-meter hurdles in 19.98 seconds, and sophomore Jacob Gorsline was fourth in 21.58 seconds.
Junior Matt Rossettie was third in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:20.91.
Junior Graham Wanck finished third in the 1,600-meter run in a time of 4:51.96, and junior Lucas Persun was fourth in 5:11.44.
Persun finished third in the 3,200-meter run in a time of 11:20.09, and Wanck was fourth in 11:20.88.
Junior Zach Fisher finished third in the javelin with a throw of 108-feet, 5-inches.
Freshman Shayan Ankam was third in the 300-meter hurdles in 52.24 seconds.
Athens returns to action Saturday at the Rotary Relays.
