STAC JV SOFTBALL: WAVERLY ROLLS TO 21-3 WIN OVER OWEGO (April 1, 2026)

OWEGO — Waverly scored early and often in a 21-3 win over Owego Free Academy here Monday afternoon in STAC Central Division junior varsity softball action.

Eighth-grader Harper Hillman earned the win in the pitcher's circle for the Wolverines. She allowed three runs — all unearned — on three hits, while striking out six and walking one.

Seventh-grader Sydney Donovan was 3-for-3 with two runs scored, and 8th-grader Layla Oechslin had three hits and four runs scored to pace Waverly's 11-hit attack.

Eighth-grader Kendall North doubled and singled, and scored three runs in the win, while freshman Lily Root singled twice and scored one run, and sophomore Bella Root doubled, reached base five times (two walks and twice hit by pitch) and scored four runs.

The Wolverines also worked 10 base on balls in the win.

Hillman and sophomore Addison Temple each walked three times and scored two runs, while sophomore Addison Temple and freshman Kanisha Mathews each crossed the plate once.

Waverly, now 2-0, returns to action Tuesday when it hosts Norwich.
