STAC JV SOFTBALL: DONOVAN TOSSES NO-HITTER; WAVERLY TOPS NORWICH, 12-4 (April 9, 2026)
Valley Sports ReportWAVERLY — Seventh-grader Sydney Donovan tossed a no-hitter to lead Waverly to a 12-4 win over Norwich here Wednesday in STAC junior varsity softball action.
Donovan struck out 19 batters in seven innings to earn the win. She threw 135 pitches.
Freshman Lily Root led Waverly's offense with two hits, two runs scored, and one RBI, while 8th-grader Layla Oechslin singled and had two RBI, and sophomore Isabella Root single, drove in one run, and scored two runs.
Donovan singled, knocked in one run, and scored one run in the win, while 8th-grader Phoebe Minaker had one RBI and one run scored, and 8th-grader Claire Seager added a single.
Sophomore Addison Temple walked three times and scored two runs for the junior Wolverines, and 8th-graders Kendall North and Harper Hillman each scored one run.
Waverly, now 3-0, returns to action Saturday at Oneonta.
