NTL BASEBALL: 7-RUN INNING CARRIES ATHENS TO 14-2 WIN OVER WILLIAMSON (April 9, 2026)

TIOGA, Pa. — Athens erupted for seven second-inning runs to defeat Williamson, 14-2, in six innings in NTL baseball action here Thursday.
Following a leadoff error off the bat of Brady Flynn, the Wildcats’ Kamdyn Wheeler and Connor Davidson drew back-to-back walks, and Duncan Thetga smacked a two-run single. Shea Davidson and Zeke Noble walked, scoring Alex McQuay, then Nick Grazul smacked a two-run double to plate Thetga and Davidson. Noble scored on a wild pitch and Grazul tallied on Brendan Cooke’s sacrifice fly.
A hit batter, single and an error allowed the Wildcats to make it 9-0 in the third, and back-to-back singles in the fourth pushed the Athens advantage to 10-0.
Williamson got on the scoreboard in the fourth via a hit batter, two singles and a base on balls, making it 10-2.
The Wildcats added four insurance runs in the sixth on five singles, a walk and a ground out.
Grazul enjoyed a 3-for-4 day at the plate with three runs and two RBI while Thetga added a hit, two runs and two RBI.
Noble and Wheeler contributed a run and an RBI apiece; Easton Paul had a hit and two runs; Ty Owen, Connor Davidson and Eli Hobday each chipped in with a hit and a run; Hunter Brennan recorded a hit, run and RBI; Flynn scored a run; and Cooke had a hit.
Flynn checked the Tigers on three hits and three walks over four innings while striking out eight. Wheeler threw the final two innings without yielding a hit. He struck out four and walked two.
