NTL SOFTBALL: COWANESQUE VALLEY TOPS SAYRE, 13-3, IN FIVE INNINGS (April 18, 2026)Valley Sports ReportWESTFIELD, Pa. — Cowanesque Valley scored three runs in the bottom of the third inning, then put the game away in the fifth inning en route to a 13-3 win over Sayre here Saturday afternoon in NTL Small School Division softball action.
The Redskins took advantage of a pair of Indian errors to score two runs in the top of the first inning.
CV responded with one run in the home half of the first inning, and two more in the second to take a 3-2 lead.
In the third inning, sophomore McKenna Parrish led off with a single, and senior Rylee Lantz followed with a double. Sophomore Emily Strickland plated Parrish with an RBI groundout to tie the game at 3-3.
CV answered with three runs in the bottom of the inning to take a 6-3 lead, added a run in the fourth, and then ended the game via the 10-run rule with six runs in the bottom of the sixth.
Parrish singled twice and scored two runs, and Lantz doubled to account for Sayre's three hits, while senior Olivia Thompson scored one run, and Strickland had an RBI.
Sayre, now 1-8, returns to action Tuesday when it hosts Williamson.
