NTL BASEBALL: SAYRE DROPS 11-1 DECISION TO COWANESQUE VALLEY (April 18, 2026)

WESTFIELD, Pa. — Cowanesque Valley scored four runs in the bottom of the first inning, and cruised to an 11-1 five-inning win over Sayre here Saturday afternoon in NTL Small School Division baseball action.

The Indians took advantage of 11 Sayre errors in the game, and led 10-0 after four innings.

The Redskins avoided the shutout with a two-out RBI single by junior Declan Barry in the top of the fifth inning, but CV answered with a run in the home half of the inning to close out the game via the 10-run rule.

Barry singled and drove in one run, and sophomore Brayden Northrup and junior Shaine Strickland to account for Sayre's three hits, and senior Jackson Varner scored one run.

Sayre, now 1-10, returns to action Monday at Wyalusing.
