NTL BASEBALL: WYALUSING RIDES BIG INNINGS TO 13-3 WIN OVER SAYRE (20 PHOTOS) (April 20, 2026)
Valley Sports ReportWYALUSING — Wyalusing blew open a close game in the fourth inning, and put it away with a five-run fifth-inning rally in a 13-3 win over Sayre in NTL baseball action here on a frigid Monday afternoon.
The Rams took the early lead with two runs in the bottom of the first inning.
The Redskins cut the lead in half in the top of the third inning. Sophomore Brayden Northrop stroked a lead-off single, and scored on a two-out error to make it 2-1.
Wyalusing answered with a run in the third inning to take a 3-1 lead.
The Rams scored four runs in the fourth inning to extend the lead to 7-1.
Logan Zingeser and Lynn Clark led off the top of the fifth inning with back-to-back singles for the Redskins, and moved up to second and third on a fly ball to right field.
With two outs, senior Karter Green stroked a two-run single to left field to close the gap to 7-3.
Wyalusing rapped out three hits in the home of the fifth, and took advantage of four base on balls, and two catcher's interference calls to plate six runs for a 13-3 mercy-rule win.
Karter Green singled twice and drove in two runs for the Redskins, and Logan Zingeser singled and scored two runs, and Clark singled and scored one run.
Junior Shaine Strickland, Blake Zingeser, and Northrup added singles for Sayre.
Sayre, now 1-11, hosts Williamson Tuesday.
