NTL TRACK & FIELD: WANCK, THOMPSON PACE ATHENS IN WINS OVER TROY, WILLIAMSON, NEB (19 PHOTOS) (April 21, 2026)
Valley Sports ReportATHENS — Junior Graham Wanck and senior Alex Thompson were triple-winners, and five of their teammates each won two events as Athens picked up wins over Troy, Williamson and Northeast Bradford here Tuesday afternoon in NTL boys track & field action at Alumni Stadium.
Seniors Brenden Comstock, Ryan Cook, and Chase Ingram, junior Ryder Morley, and freshman Avery Gorsline were double-winners for the Wildcats, who improve to 10-2.
ATHENS 88.5, TROY 39, WILLIAMSON 32, NEB 29.5Wanck won the 800-meter run in a time of 2:08.5, and junior Matt Rossettie was fourth in 2:16.22.
Wanck won the 1,600-meter run in a time of 4:46.23, while junior Lucas Persun was third in 4:54.16, and Rossettie was fourth in 4:55.88.
Wanck, senior Alex Thompson, Rossettie and Persun won the 3,200-meter relay in a time of 9:11.67.
Thompson won the 400-meter dash in a time to 53.94 seconds.
Thompson teamed with Avery Gorsline, senior Ryan Cook, and junior Brayden Westbrook to win the 1,600-meter relay in a time of 3:42.34.
Avery Gorsline won the 300-meter hurdles in a time of 46.14 seconds.
Senior Chase Ingram won the 110-meter hurdles in a time of 18.73 seconds, while freshman Shayan Ankam was second in 19.14 seconds, and freshman Gavin Ross was third in 19.52 seconds.
Ingram won the pole vault at 10-feet, 6-inches, and junior Holden McKeever was fourth at 8-feet, 6-inches.
Morley won the 100-meter dash in a time of 11.6 seconds, and Cook was fourth in 11.68 seconds. Morley was second in the 200-meter dash in 23.8 seconds, and Cook was third in 23.96 seconds.
Morley and Cook teamed with sophomore Jacob Gorsline, and Westbrook to win the 400-meter relay in a time of 45.89 seconds.
Senior Brenden Comstock won the discus with a toss of 130-feet, 9-inches, and junior Hayden Bartlow was second at 110-feet, 5-inches.
Comstock won the shot put with a heave of 44-feet, 9-inches
Junior Alex Arcesi placed second in the 3,200-meter run in a time of 10:59.39.
Ross placed second in the high jump at 5-feet, 4-inches, and junior Christopher Moore was third at 5-feet, 2-inches.
Junior Zach Fisher placed third in the javelin with a throw of 117-feet, 8-inches.
Athens returns to action Friday at the Lasagna Invitational at Wyalusing High School.
