SECTION IV GIRLS GOLF: WAVERLY POSTS WINS OVER HORSEHEADS, O-M; FALLS TO CORNING (April 27, 2026)
Valley Sports ReportCORNING — Low-medalist Delaney Abel's 37 was the difference for the Hawks, but Waverly was able to pull out wins over Horseheads and Odessa-Montour here Monday afternoon in Section IV girls golf action at the Corning Country Club.
Abel fired an even-par 37 on the front nine to lead Corning in a four-player aggregate score of 208, while Waverly shot a 218, Corning carded a 227, and O-M had a 289.
Addison Hunt led the Wolverines with a 50, while Emelia Mitchell and Sophia Sileo each shot a 54, and Olivia Cheresnowsky and Adriana Presher each carded a 60. Aliana Nichols tacked on a non-scoring round of 73.
Jemma Randle led Horseheads with a 46, and Brooke Burns led O-M with a 49.
Waverly, now 8-3, returns to action Thursday when it hosts Lansing and Corning.
