NTL TRACK & FIELD: ATHENS BOYS NOTCH WINS OVER WELLSBORO, CANTON; LADY WILDCATS EARN SPLIT (April 28, 2026)

WELLSBORO — The Athens boys had six double-winners, and picked up wins over Wellsboro and Canton in the final dual meet of the season, while the Lady Wildcats earned a win over Canton, but fell to Wellsboro here Tuesday in NTL Track & Field action.

The Athens boys wrap up the season with an 11-3 record, while the Lady Wildcats finish at 10-3-1.

BOYS
Athens 91.66, Wellsboro 76.33, Canton 20

Senior Brenden Comstock, senior Alex Thompson, juniors Ryan Cook, Graham Wanck, Brayden Westbrook, and freshman Avery Gorsline were double-winners to help the Wildcats to a pair of wins.

Comstock won the shot put with a heave of 44-feet, 3 1/2-inches.

Comstock also won the discus with a toss if 128-feet, 8 3/4-inhes, and junior Hayden Bartlow was third at 111-feet, 7-inches.

Junior Zach Fisher won the javelin with a throw of 130-feet, 9 1/2-inches, and senior Chase Ingram was third at 105-feet, 7-inches.

Sophomore Patrick Umber won the 100-meter dash in a time of 11.9 seconds, and junior Ryder Morley was third in 12.18 seconds.

Morley, Westbrook, Ryan Cook, and Avery Gorsline teamed to win the 400-meter relay in a time of 46.22 seconds.

Cook, Avery Gorsline, Westbrook, and Thompson teamed to win the 1,600-meter relay in a time of 3:42.89.

Thompson won the 400-meter dash in a time of 53.6 seconds.

Graham Wanck won the 800-meter run in time of 2:07.56, and junior Matt Rossettie was third in 2:13.11.

Graham Wanck finished second in the 1,600-meter run in a time of 4:43.54, and junior Lucas Persun was fourth in 4:46.31.

Graham Wanck, Rossettie, Persun and junior Alex Arcesi teamed to win the 3,200-meter relay in a time of 9:32.76.

Senior Parker Wanck won the 3,200-meter run in a time of 10:40.76, while Persun was second in 10:52.41, and Arcesi was third in 10:52.42.

Cook placed second in the 200-meter dash in a time of 24.44 seconds, while Morley was third in 24.46 seconds, and Umber was fourth in 24.82 seconds.

Freshman Shayan Ankam placed second in the 300-meter hurdles in a time of 48.35 seconds, and sophomore Jacob Gorsline was third in 49.47 seconds.

Freshman Gavin Ross placed second in the high jump at 5-feet, 6-inches, freshman Iziah Bailey was third at 5-feet, 4-inches.

Ross finished second in the pole vault at 9-feet, and junior Holden McKeever was third at 9-feet.

Ingram placed third in the 110-meter hurdles in a time of 19.42 seconds, and  Ross was fourth in 19.48 seconds.

Ankam placed fourth in the triple jump with a mark of 34-feet, 7-inches

GIRLS
Wellsboro 94.5, Athens 68.5, Canton 26

Senior Lizzie Gorsline and sophomore Marlene Roelle were triple-winners to lead the Wildcats to a win over Canton, but the Hornets displayed superior depth to top the Wildcats.

Gorsline won the 100-meter hurdles in a time of 17.33 seconds. 

Gorsline also won the 300-meter hurdles in a time of 50.95 seconds.

Marlene Roelle won the 400-meter dash in a time of 1:07.51, while freshman Eden Fedorchak was third in 1:09.9, and freshman Bilikula Wennie was fourth in 1:10.9.

Gorsline and Roelle teamed with senior Abby Burgess and Fedorchak to win the 1,600-meter relay in a time of 4:33.13.

Marlene Roelle, Fedorchak, senior Karolin Roelle, and freshman Stella Unger teamed to win the 3,200-meter relay in a time of 11:53.11.

Burgess finished second in the 100-meter dash in a time of 12.12 seconds. She was also second in the 200-meter dash in 26.36 seconds.

Sophomore Alissa Vough placed second in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:35.57, while freshman Stella Unger was third in 2:44.77, and senior Ava Hughes was fourth in 2:45.76.

Vough finished second in the 1,600-meter run in a time of 6:11.24, while Hughes was third in 6:20.29, and senior Karolin Roelle was fourth in 6:46.99.

Vough placed second in the 3,200-meter run in a time of 13:44.38, while Hughes was third in 13:44.78, and Karolin Roelle was fourth in 13:45.63.

Junior Kaitlyn Leonard finished second in the long jump at 14-feet, 1-inch. She was also second in the triple jump with a mark of 30-feet.

Sophomore Maleah Hadlock finished second in the shot put with a heave of 27-feet, and junior Mya Smith was fourth at 26-feet, 4-inches.

Senior Fiona Coniglio was third in the pole vault at 6-feet, 6-inches.

Senior Evelyn Panek placed fourth in the high jump at 4-feet, 4-inches.

Sophomore Annika Lezak finished fourth in the discus with a toss of 79-feet, 11-iches.

Athens returns to action Friday at the BlueJay Classic in Central Columbia.
