NTL SOFTBALL: WYALUSING RIDES 11-RUN FIRST INNING TO 16-1 ROUT OF SAYRE (April 30, 2026)Valley Sports ReportWYALUSING — Wyalusing poured 11 runs across the plate in the home half of the first inning, and cruised to a four-inning 16-1 win over Sayre here Thursday afternoon in NTL softball action.
The Rams took advantage of three Sayre miscues in the bottom of the first, but also pounded out nine hits, including a three-run home run by Addison Fluck, and led 9-0 before the first out was recorded.
The Redskins trailed 12-0 after two innings, and got on the scoreboard in the top of the third inning. The big hit was a double by senior Olivia Thompson that moved Paige Secrist to third with one out. Sophomore McKenna Parrish plated Sayre's only run with an RBI groundout.
Wyalusing ended the game via the "mercy" rule with four runs in the bottom of the fourth inning.
Thompson doubled and junior Zoey Ward singled to account for Sayre's two hits, while Parrish drove in one run, and Secrist scored one run.
Sayre, now 1-12, hosts NEB Monday.
