NTL JUNIOR HIGH TRACK & FIELD: ROY, HICKS LEAD ATHENS GIRLS, BOYS TO TEAM TITLES AT LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIPS (22 PHOTOS) (May 7, 2026)
Valley Sports ReportWELLSBORO — Evelyn Roy and Ryan Hicks were triple-winners, and Rowan Morales was a double-winner to lead the Athens girls and boys to team titles at the NTL Junior High track & field championships here Tuesday at Wellsboro High School.
GIRLSThe Lady Wildcats amassed 134 points to win the, with Troy finishing second with 110 points, and Wellsboro third with 62.5 points.
Roy won the high jump at 4-feet, 11-inches, and Adriana Wayman was second at 4-feet, 6-inches.
Roy won the long jump with a leap of 15-feet, 5 1/2-inches, while Everleigh Waring was third at 13-feet, 9 1/3-inches, Kensley Bailey was fourth at 12-feet, 11 1/2-inches, and Wayman was sixth at 12-feet, 5-inches.
Roy also won the triple jump with a mark of 31-feet, 4 1/4-inches, while Ariana Nelsen was second at 29-feet, 3 1/2-inches, and Hannah Behm was seventh at 26-feet, 11 1/2-inches.
Roy placed second in the 200-meter dash in a time of 29.47 seconds, while Azlyn Holbert was third in 29.65 seconds, and Nelsen was seventh in 30.14 seconds.
Addison Glielmi won the shot put with a heave of 27-feet, 6-inches. Glielmi placed sixth in the discus with a toss of 58-feet, 1-inch.
Nelsen placed second in the 100-meter hurdles in a time of 18.35 seconds, and Behm was fourth in 19.33 seconds.
The foursome of Holbert, Allie Lyon, Alivia Senn, and Sadie Wanck finished second in the 400-meter relay in a time of 58.61 seconds.
Holbert finished third in the 100-meter dash in a time of 14.08 seconds, and Waring was fifth in 14.38 seconds.
Evelyn Owen placed fourth in the 1,600-meter run in a time of 6:12.43. Owen was sixth in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:50.68.
Holbert finished seventh in the 400-meter dash in 1:11.08, and Lyon was eighth in 1:11.18.
The foursome of Owen, Senn, Wanck, and Lyon teamed to finish seventh in the 1,600-meter relay in a time of 5:08.23.
BOYSThe Wildcats tallied 133.5 points to edge Wellsboro by 1.5 points for the team title, while North Penn-Mansfield was third with 80 points.
Hicks won the 100-meter dash in a time of 11.94 seconds, while Wyatt Randall was sixth in 12.87 seconds, and Luke Kennedy was sixth in 13.12 seconds.
Hicks also won the 200-meter dash in a time of 24.23 seconds, while Randall was fourth in 26.56 seconds, Kennedy was fifth in 26.92 seconds, and Austin Roloson was sixth in 27.65 seconds.
Morales won the 800-meter run in a time of 2:32.21. He placed second in the 1,600-meter run in 5:30.55.
Morales and Hicks teamed with Nico Rossettie and Evan Marhefka to win the 1,600-meter relay in a time of 4:19.21.
Jacob MacBride won the discus with a toss of 120-feet, 1/2-inch, while Ethan Glielmi placed fourth at 87-feet, 7 1/2-inches, Elliott Chilson was fifth at 86-feet, 11-inches, and Racer Turner was sixth at 86-feet, 6-inches.
Hicks, Kennedy, Randall and Rossettie teamed to place second in the 400-meter relay in a time of 50.15 seconds.
Kennedy placed third in the 400-meter dash in a time of 1:02.61, and Nico Rossettie was fifth in 1:02.87.
Chilson finished third in the high jump at 4-feet, 8-inches, and Turner was sixth at 4-feet, 4-inches.
MacBride placed fourth in the shot put with a heave of 30-feet, 9-inches, while Turner was fifth at 29-feet, 5 1/2-inches, and Sylas Grate was seventh at 29-feet, 1-inch.
Austin Nason finished fourth in the 100-meter hurdles in a time of 19.55 seconds.
Glielmi finished seventh in the triple jump with a mark of 26-feet, 3 1/2-inches.
