ATHENS — Senior Abby Burgess, who had the Wildcats' only win, and senior Lizzie Gorsline each had four top-three finishes to lead Athens to a third-place finish here Friday afternoon at the NTL track & field championships.

Wellsboro claimed the team title with 132 points, while Towanda was runner-up with 126.83 points, and Athens tallied 101.83 points. Williamson was fourth with 76 points.

Burgess won the 400-meter dash in a time of 1:03.06, while sophomore Marlene Roelle was ninth in 1:06.56, and freshman Eden Fedorchak was 15th in 1:09.86.

Burgess placed second in the 100-meter dash in a time of 12.49 seconds, while freshman Bilikula Wennie was seventh in 13.43 seconds, and sophomore Ella Marhefka was 11th in 14.26 seconds.

Burgess was second in the 200-meter dash in 25.6 seconds, while Wennie was sixth in 27.86 seconds, and junior Kaitlyn Leonard was ninth in 29.16 seconds.

Gorsline finished second in the 300-meter hurdles in a time of 49.24 seconds, and sophomore Savannah Boyles was 12th in 54.84 seconds.

Gorsline placed third in the 110-meter hurdles in a time of 16.74 seconds.

Fedorchak and Roelle teamed with freshman Stella Unger, and senior Ava Hughes to finish third in the 3,200-meter relay in a time of 11:17.8.

Burgess, Gorsline, Leonard, and Marhefka teamed to place third in the 400-meter relay in a time of 51.65 seconds.

Gorsline, Wennie, Roelle, and Fedorchak teamed to place third in the 1,600-meter relay in a time of 4:28.0.

Senior Elizabeth Denlinger finished third in the pole vault at 8-feet, and senior Fiona Coniglio was 10th at 6-feet, 6-inches.

Sophomore Alissa Vough finished fourth in the 1,600-meter run in a time of 5:28.38, while Unger was 10th in 5:54.43, and Hughes was 11th in 5:48.38.

Vough placed fifth in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:28.98, while Unger was 10th in 2:40.53, and Roelle was 11th in 2:43.26.

Vough finished sixth in the 3,200-meter run in a time of 12:27.87, and Hughes was eighth in 12:51.23.

Senior Evelyn Panek finished fourth in the high jump at 4-feet, 8-inches, while Denlinger was eighth at 4-feet, 4-inches.

Sophomore Annika Lezak finished fourth in the javelin with a throw of 99-feet, and senior Alivia Learn was 1
6th at 72-feet, 10-inches.

Lezak placed fifth in the discus with a toss of 87-feet, 1-inch, while senior Abby Wagner was ninth at 81-feet, 6-inches, and sophomore Maleah Hadlock was 16th at 72-feet, 1-inch.

Hadlock finished fifth in the shot put with a heave of 30-feet, 1/2-inch, while senior Leah Nason was ninth at 28-feet, 2-inches, and junior Mya Smith was 10th at 25-feet, 8-inches.

Leonard was 10th in the triple jump with a mark of 31-feet, 2-inches, and Boyles was 13th at 28-feet, 3-inches.

Leonard finished 11th in the long jump at 14-feet, 5-inches.

Athens returns to action Thursday and Saturday at the District 4 Championships Thursday and Saturday at Williamsport High School.
