VALLEY SPORTS REPORT: WAVERLY'S GONZALEZ, AULT, SAYRE'S MALANOSKI NAMED BISHPO BROTHERS CONSRUCTION 'ATHLETES OF THE WEEK' (May 11, 2026)

THE VALLEY — Senior Ronin Ault had another big week on the diamond for Waverly, while freshman Taylin Gonzalez also came up big for the Wolverine softball team, and Sayre junior Hudson Malanoski won the only gold medal for a Valley boy at the NTL Track & Field Championships. They are the Valley Sports Report / Bishop Brothers Construction "Athletes of the Week," for the week ending May 9.

WAVERLY'S AULT, SAYRE'S MALANOSKI NAMED BISHOP BROTHER CONSTRUCTION BOYS "ATHLETES OF THE WEEK"
Ault hit .714 on the week, had three consecutive three-hit games, homered in three straight games, and earned a win on the mound during Waverly's 4-0 week. On the week, Ault had 10 hits in 14 at-bats with seven runs scored, three home runs, 12 RBI, and one stolen base.

Ault was 3-for-4 with three runs scored, one RBI, and one stolen base, and allowed one earned run in six innings of three-hit ball with four strikeouts and two walks in a 17-4 win over Owego Monday.

On Tuesday, Ault was 3-for-4 with a home run, one run scored and four RBI in a 6-3 win over Owego. He followed that up Thursday with a 3-for-4 effort with a home run, and five RBI in a 9-6 win over Oneonta.

He finished off his week Friday with a two-run home run in two at-bats in a 12-3 win over Owego.

Malanoski logged the only win for a male Valley athlete Friday at the NTL Championships, winning the shot put with a heave of 48-feet, 4-inches. He finished ninth in the discus with a toss of 108-feet, 6-inches.

WAVERLY'S GONZALEZ NAMED BISHOP BROTHER CONSTRUCTION GIRLS "ATHLETES OF THE WEEK"
Gonzalez hit .455, and earned three wins on the week to help the Lady Wolverines to a 3-0 week.

Gonzalez had five hits in 11 at-bats with six runs scored, one double, two home runs, and five RBI.

In the circle, Gonzalez was 3-0 with a 2.10 ERA. She allowed 12 hits and walked nine in 20 innings pitched, while striking out 25.
