STAC TRACK & FIELD: QUAD-WINNER TWEDT LEADS WAVERLY GIRLS IN DIVISION-CLINCHING WIN OVER CHENANGO FORKS (May 13, 2026)

WAVERLY — Sophomore Kaylin Twedt won four events, and senior Kaitlyn Sutton and sophomore Gianna Soprano were triple-winners to lead the Lady Wolverines to a division-clinching 74-66 win over Chenango Forks here Tuesday afternoon, while junior Jayden Washington was a triple-winner to lead the Waverly boys in a 73-68 setback in STAC Central Division track & field action.

GIRLS
WAVERLY 74, CHENANGO FORKS 66

Kaylin Twedt led a sweep in the 100-meter dash, clocking in at 12.91 seconds, while Sutton was second in 13.34 seconds, and 8th-grader Kezlynn DeKay was third in 13.46 seconds.

Kaylin Twedt also won the 400-meter dash in 59.95 seconds.

Kaylin Twedt, Sutton, DeKay, and Soprano teamed to win the 400-meter relay in a time of 52.1 seconds.

Kaylin Twedt and Sutton teamed with senior Haley Larrabee and junior Ryleigh Judson to win the 1,600-meter relay in a time of 4:39.06.

Sutton won the 200-meter dash in 27.64 seconds, and DeKay was second in 28.17 seconds.

Soprano led a sweep in the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 1:12.95, while Larrabee was second in 1:14.12, and freshman Brynna Twedt was third in 1:25.65.

Soprano won the pole vault at 7-feet, 6-inches, and Brynna Twedt was third at 7-feet.

Senior Mackenzie Chamberlain won the 3,000-meter run in a time of 11:44.76.

Brynna Twedt won the 100-meter hurdles in a time of 19.85 seconds.

Sophomore Kendall Rockwell finished second in the shot put with a heave of 26-feet, 2 1/4-inches, and freshman Leraya Teeter was third at 23-feet, 11-inches.

Rockwell also placed second in the high jump at 4-feet, 2-inches.

Teeter placed second in the discus with a toss of 76-feet, 2-inches, and Rockwell was third at 75-feet.

Freshman Miranda Ferger placed second in the long jump with a leap of 13-feet, 2-inches. She was also second in the triple jump with a marker 26-feet, 9 3/4-inches.

BOYS
CHENANGO FORKS 73, WAVERLY 68

Joining Washington in the winner's circle multiple times for the Wolverines were double-winners senior Troy Beeman, juniors Chase Hine and Rhylee Stotler, sophomore Jesse Lantz, and freshman Braiden Judson.

Washington won the 800-meter run in a time of 2:07.68, and freshman James Cole was second in 2:10.43.

Washington, Judson, Lantz and sophomore Drayton DeKay teamed to win the 1,600-meter relay in a time of 3:54.79.

Washington and Hine teamed with sophomore Hayden Montayne and Cole to win the 3,200-meter relay in a time of 10:04.85.

Hine won the 1,600-meter run in a time of 4:46.42, and Montanye was second in 4:51.61.

Judson won the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 1:04.28.

Stotler and Lantz teamed with junior Chase Wheeler and freshman Maddex Presher to win the 400-meter relay in a time of 46.55 seconds.

Stotler won the pole vault at 13-feet, and Lantz was second at 11-feet.

Senior Troy Beeman won the shot put with a heave of 41-feet, 8 3/4-inches. 

Beeman also won the discus with a toss of 139-feet, 1-inch, and junior Carson Rockwell was third at 97-feet, 1-inch.

Wheeler finished second in the 200-meter dash in a time of 24.51 seconds, and Presher was third in 24.83 seconds.

Sophomore Wyatt Chandler was second in the 110-meter hurdles in a time of 20.69 seconds.

Presher finished second in the high jump at 5-feet, 4-inches, and Wyatt Chandler was third at 5-feet, 2-inches.

Presher finished third in the 100-meter dash in 11.88 seconds.

Junior Jaxon Chandler placed third in the 400-meter dash in a time of 56.24 seconds.

Waverly returns to action Friday at the Fast Times Invite at Corning-Painted Post High School.
