STAC TRACK & FIELD: WAVERLY'S TWEDT, STOTLER WIN GOLD AT LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIPS (24 PHOTOS) (May 20, 2026)

VESTAL — Sophomore Kaylin Twedt and junior Rhylee Stotler each won STAC titles here Wednesday to pace Waverly at the STAC track & field championships.

LADY WOLVERINES FINISH 8TH AT LEAGUE MEET

Corning ran away with the team title, amassing 154 points, while runner-up Oneonta had 63 points. Waverly was eighth with 29 points.

Kaylin Twedt won the 400-meter dash in a time of 59.8 seconds.

Kaylin Twedt teamed with seniors Haley Larrabee and Kaitlyn Sutton, and 8th-grader Kezlynn DeKay to finish second in the 1,600-meter relay in a time of 4:14.89 

Kaylin Twerdt, DeKay, Sutton and sophomore Gianna Soprano, teamed to finish fourth in the 400-meter relay in a time of 52.14 seconds.

Soprano placed fourth in the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 1:12.18, and senior Haley Larrabee was fifth in 1:12.44.

Soprano also placed sixth in the pole vault at 8-feet, and freshman Brynna Twedt was seventh at 7-feet.

Kaylin Twedt also finished seventh in the 100-meter dash in 13.12 seconds, and Sutton was 10th in 13.39 seconds.

Senior Mackenzie Chamberlain finished seventh in the 3,000-meter run in a time of 11:50.63, and junior Taylor Sinsabaugh was 15th in 14:04.97

DeKay finished eighth in the 100-meter hurdles in a time of 18.46 seconds, and Brynna Twedt was 10th in 19.46 seconds.

Freshman Leraya Teeter was 12th in the discus with a toss of 77-feet, 2-inches.

Sophomore Kendall Rockwell finished 12th in the shot put with a heave of 24-feet, 11-inches. She was also 14th in the high jump at 4-feet.

Sophomore Miah Correll was 16th in the 1,500-meter run in a time of 5:52.03.

WAVERLY BOYS FINSIH 10TH IN TEAM STANDINGS
Corning ran away with the team title with 122 points, while runner-up Ithaca had 69 points, and third-place Horseheads had 62 points. Waverly finished 10th with 22 points.

Stotler won the pole vault, clearing the bar at 12-feet, 6-inches.

Senior Troy Beeman placed second in the discus with a personal-best throw of 144-feet, 3-inches.

Juniors Chase Hine and Jayden Washington, freshman James Cole, and sophomore Hayden Montanye teamed to place fourth in the 3,200-meter relay in a time of 8:47.8.

Hine finished seventh in the 1,600-meter run in a time of 4:45.25, and Montanye was 13th in 4:53.63.

Stotler teamed with freshman Maddex Presher, sophomore Jesse Lantz, ad junior Chase Wheeler teamed to finish seventh in the 400-meter relay in a time of 46.67 seconds.

Sophomore Jaxon Chandler finished 11th in the high jump at 5-feet, 3-inches, and Presher was 15th at 5-3. Jaxon Chandler also finished 13th in the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 1:05.26.

Freshman Wyatt Chandler was 13th in the 110-meter hurdles in a time of 20.11 seconds.

Wheeler was 13th in the 200-meter dash in a time of 24.64 seconds. He was also was 16th in the 100-meter dash in 11.93 seconds.

Washington finished 14th in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:05.36.

Waverly returns to action Wednesday at the Class B Championships at Ithaca High School.
