STAC GIRLS GOLF: HUNT LEADS WAVERLY TO THIRD PLACE AT LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIPS (May 21, 2026)

APALACHIN — Led by senior Addison Hunt, all four Waverly golfers finished in the top 10 as the Wolverines finished third at the STAC Girls Golf Championships at the Apalachin Golf Course.

Corning, led by low medalist sophomore Delaney Abel, who shot a 68, won the team title with a four-player aggregate score of 393, while Vestal was runner-up at 414, with Allison Yoon leading the Bears with a round of 81.

Waverly carded a 424 to finish third. Hunt carded a 104 to finish seventh in the individual standings, while Sophia Sileo tied for eighth with a round of 106, and sophomore Emelia Mitchell and senior Olivia Cheresnowsky tied for 10th with matching rounds of 107.

Maine-Endwell was fourth with a 426, led by Cameron Salmon's 103, and Horseheads was fifth with a 431, with Ellie Padgett shooting a 103.

Elmira was sixth with a 518, with Mary Collins' 121 leading the Express.

The Section IV Girls Golf Championships is set for May 28 at Soaring Eagles Golf Course.
