ATHENS — Waverly's Rhylee Stotler registered a pin to stake New York to an early 12-0 lead en route to a 46-31 win over Pennsylvania here Saturday evening at the third annual Duals on Desmond, which was held at Athens Area High School due to threat of severe weather.

At 133 pounds, Stotler scored an early takedown and turned it into a fall of Wyalusing's Bostyn McMicken at 1:26 to give N.Y. a 12-0 lead.

At 107 pounds, after a scoreless first period, Owego's Gavin Lovell scored a reversal and turned it into a fall  of South Williamsports Garrett Bacon at 3:51 to extend New York's lead to 18-0.

At 172 pounds, Sayre's Jordan Brown scored takedowns in all three periods in an 11-3 major decision over Edison's Greg Golden to put Pa. on the board and close the deficit to 18-4.

After a scoreless first period, Sherburn-Earlville's Freddy Smith scored a takedown late in the second period to take a 5-3 lead, then sealed his 8-3 win over Athens' Chace VanDyke with a third-period takedown in their 113-pound match-up, and extend New York's lead to 25-10.

At 152 pounds, Athens' Treyton Barrett registered seven takedowns, including four in the second period, in a 21-6 technical fall of Elmira's Lavonte Gibbons in 5:57. The win closed the gap to 25-15 in the dual.

Athens' Connor Davidson scored the quickest fall int he dual, decking Elmira's Josh Johnson in 30 seconds to trim Pa.'s deficit to 28-24.
