DISTRICT 15 LITTLE LEAGUE (SOFTBALL): TOWANDA CLINCHES POOL WITH 7-3 WIN OVER ATHENS (June 22, 2026)

ATHENS — Towanda took the lead early and never trailed in a 7-3 win over Athens in the final game of pool play in the District 15 Little League Minors Division softball playoffs.

Towanda clinched the East pool title with a 3-0 record, while Athens finished second at 2-1. Wellsboro and Canton are both 0-2.

Towanda scored a run in the top of the first inning to take a 1-0 lead, then scored two runs in each of the third and fourth innings to up their advantage to 5-0.

Towanda finished off its scoring with runs in the top of the fifth and sixth inning to make it 7-0.

Athens scored all of its runs in the bottom of the sixth.

Break Wilcox singled twice and scored one run to pace Athens' seven-hit attack, while Adelaide Gorman and Jaelyn Ashby each singled and scored one run.

Ryleigh Robinson singled and drove in one run for Athens, and Morgan Robinson and Carly Bishop each added a single.

Wilcox was tagged with the loss. She allowed four hits, while striking out 16 and walking four in six innings.

Athens will host the winner of Tuesday night's game between Canton and Wellsboro Wednesday evening.
