DISTRICT 15 LITTLE LEAGUE (MINORS): SAYRE OPENS POOL PLAY WITH LOSSES TO TROY, CANTON (14 PHOTOS) (June 23, 2026)
Valley Sports ReportSAYRE — Sayre lost its first two games in pool play over the weekend in the District 15 Minors Division baseball playoffs.
Troy 19, Sayre 4Troy scored 10 runs in the bottom of the second inning to break open a tie game on its way to a 19-4 three-inning win over Sayre in the opening game of pool play.
Sayre scored four runs in the top of the second inning to tie the game at 4-4, but Troy led 14-4 after two innings, then finished off the win via the 10-run rule with five runs in the bottom of the third inning.
Gavin Roof singled, scored one run, and drove in two runs, and Jaxon Morgan singled and scored one run to account for Sayre's two hits.
Maddox Myers and Noah McCutcheon each had one RBI, and Colin Ball and Lucas Stone each scored one run for Sayre.
Canton 12, Sayre 2Canton plated eight runs in the bottom of the second inning on its way to a 12-2 third-inning win over Sayre in Minors Division pool play.
Sayre opened the scoring with two runs in the top of the first inning, but Canton tied the game with two runs in the home half of the inning.
After taking a 10-2 lead after two innings, Canton ended the game via the 10-run rule with two runs in the third inning.
Jaxon Morgan singled twice, scored one run, and drove in one run to account for Sayre's two hits, and Jackson Shannon scored one run.
