ATHENS — Athens and Towanda both improved to 4-0 in recent play in the Athens Junior High Girls Basketball Summer League.

Athens earned wins over Wyalsuing (41-31) and Troy (41-34), while Towanda topped Hughesville (38-4) and Wyalusing (39-20).

After dropping a decision to Troy (32-28) in its opener, Waverly earned its first win, topping Hughesville (27-16).
