CANTON — Athens scored six runs in the top of the sixth inning to rally for an 8-4 win over Canton in the consolation bracket finals of the District 15 Little League Softball Minors Division softball playoffs.

Athens advances to face Southern Tioga in the championship round of the double-elimination tournament. They will need to beat ST twice to win a district title.

Athens scored first in the second inning, but Canton took a 2-1 lead with two runs in the bottom of the third inning.

Athens tied the game in the top of the fourth, but Canton scored twice in the bottom of the fifth to take a 4-2 lead.

Jaelyn Ashby doubled and singled, scored three runs, and had two RBI, while Morgan Robinson singled twice, scored one run, and drove in two runs, and Breah Wilcox added a pair of singles.

Adelaide Gorman, Roselina Meyers, Addisyn Johnston singled and scored one run in the win, while Ryleigh Robinson singled and drove in one run, Sophia Burns and RaeAnne Archibald each added a single, and Carly Bishop crossed the plate once.

Athens will face Southern Tioga Tuesday at the Mansfield Little League field.
