DISTRICT 15 LITTLE LEAGUE (MINORS): SAYRE PULLS OUT 12-11 EXTRA-INNING WIN OVER TROY IN OPENING ROUND OF BRACKET PLAY (June 29, 2026)

TROY — Sayre scored in the bottom of the sixth inning to force extra innings, then scored twice to pull out a 12-11 seven-inning win over Troy here Monday evening in the opening game of bracket play in the District 15 Little League Baseball Minors Division baseball playoffs.

Sayre led 1-0 after two innings, and 3-2 after three, but Troy scored six runs in the top of the fourth to take an 8-3 lead, and Sayre spent the rest of the game playing catch-up.

Sayre scored three runs in the bottom of the fourth to close the gap to 8-6, then scored three more in the fifth to tie the game at 9-9.

After Sayre tied the game at 10-10 with a run in the bottom  of the sixth, Troy answered with a run in the top of the seventh, but RBI singles by Noah McCutcheon and Jackson Shannon gave Sayre the win.

Gavin Roof had four hits, including a double, scored three runs, and drove in two runs, and Maddox Myers was 3-for-3 with a run scored, and two RBI to pace Sayre's 14-hit attack.

Shannon doubled and singled, scored two runs, and knocked in one run in the win, while Jaxon Morgan singled twice and drove in two runs, McCutcheon singled, scored two runs, and had one RBI, and Colin Ball singled, scored one run, and drove in one run.

Jaxon Burch singled and scored one run for Sayre, while Andrew Vanderpool and Lucas Stone each scored one run and drove in one run.

Sayre will travel to Southern Tioga Tuesday for a quarter-final match-up.
