VALLEY SPORTS REPORT: TIOGA'S FEEKO HEADLINES SUPER 7 AS 'GIRLS ATHLETE OF THE YEAR' (July 2, 2026)

Valley Sports Report
THE VALLEY — Tioga senior RaeAnne Feeko was an all-state performer in two sports, and is the 2025-26 Valley Sports Report "Girls Athlete of the Year."
 
In the fall, Feeko, a tremendous all-around athlete, recorded 277 setter assists, 52 aces, 174 digs, 54 kills and 15 blocks. She was an all-state selection.

Over the winter, Feeko posted a 13-6 record on the wrestling mats with a fifth-place finish at the U-E Tradesman, and a sixth-place finish at the rugged Southern Tier Memorial.

Feeko had an excellent spring on the softball diamond for the Tigers. A dynamic defender at shortstop, she runs the bases exceptionally well, and does all the little things right, while wielding a devastating bat.

Feeko hit .600 (39 hits in 65 ABs) with 12 base on balls for .671 on-base percentage. She also posted 1.169 slugging percentage, and an OPS of 1.840.

Eighteen of Feeko's 39 hits were for extra-bases. She recorded eight doubles, one triple, and nine home runs, to go along with 37 RBI, 39 runs scored. She was also 19-for-19 on stolen bases. She was a first-team all-state selection.

(NOTE: This award is designed to honor three-sport athletes, although two-sport athletes will occasionally make the list.)

2025-26 Super 7 "Girls Athletes of the Year"
RaeAnne Feeko, senior, Tioga volleyball, wrestling, softball:

Rylee Lantz, senior, Sayre volleyball, basketball, softball: In the fall, Lantz was the heart-and-soul of a Sayre volleyball team that won the program's first-ever District 4 title, and also went on to collect the first state playoff win in school history.

Lantz, who was a setter as a junior, registered a team-high 211 kills and 35 blocks on the season, to go along with 37 service aces, 53 digs, and eight setter assists.

On the hardwoods this winter, Lantz proved to be a workhorse on the boards and a presence in the paint. She led the Valley in rebounds and blocked shots, averaging 11.4 boards, per game, including 8.8 on the defensive glass, and 2.8 blocked shots per game. She also averaged 6.4 points and 1.4 steals per game.

On the diamond this spring, Lantz hit .306 (15 hits in 49 ABs) with two doubles, three triples, eight RBI, 12 runs scored, and three stolen bases.

McKenna Jarvis, junior, Athens soccer, basketball, softball: In the fall, Jarvis was a top-notch defender on a Wildcat team that pitched two shutouts and allowed just one goal in seven games.

On the hardwoods, Jarvis was dynamic player on both ends of the floor. She averaged 15.8 points, including 34 3-pointers, 5.8 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 3.5 steals per game.

On the diamond this spring,  Jarvis hit .310 (18 hits in 58 ABs) with two doubles, two triples, one home run, nine RBI, 15 runs scored, and nine stolen bases.

Vida Rossi, sophomore, volleyball, wrestling, track & field:
In the fall, Rossi made an instant impact in her full varsity season on the volleyball hardwoods.  She had 124 kills, 46 digs, nine aces, six blocks and one assist.

Over the winter, Rossi tested herself on the wrestling mats, and posted 12 wins on the season, including fourth-place finishes at the U-E Tradesman Tournament, and the Windsor Lady Black Knights Invitational.

This spring, Rossi won a pair of state track & field medals, and set a pair of new school records in the process. 

Rossi won a bronze medal in the 100-meter dash at States with a time of 12.34 seconds — just off her school-record time of 12.31, which she recorded in a second-place finish at the Section IV State Qualifier. She won a sixth-place medal at States in the long jump with a school-record leap of 18-feet, 8 3/4-inches.

Makenzie Olmsted, junior, Waverly soccer, basketball, flag football: In the fall, Olmsted was a fierce, tireless and tenacious defender with good speed and a non-stop motor on the soccer pitch. She was also a threat at the offensive end, finishing the season with five goals and one assist.

On the hardwoods over the winter, Olmsted was a shutdown defender on the perimeter for the Wolverines.

This spring, Olmsted led Waverly's flag football team with 57 receptions for 596 yards, and nine TDs. She also rushed 519 yards and two TDs on 66 carries (7.9 yards per carry), and scored four extra points. Defensively, she had 27 flag pulls and three interceptions.

Lauryn Welles, sophomore, swimming, basketball, flag football:
In the fall, A consistent point-getter for the Wolverine swim team during their unbeaten duals season, Welles qualified for States in both the 50- and 100-yard freestyle sprints. She also swam on the 200-yard freestyle relay team that won a seventh-place medal at States, and the 400-yard freestyle relay that won a Section IV, Class B gold medal.

On the hardwoods, Welles was a top-notch defender and a rugged rebounder.

This spring, Welles recorded 50 flag pulls and one interception as one of the team leaders on the flag football defense. On offense, Welles had 23 receptions for 285 yards, and six TDs. She carried the ball six times for 16 yards.

Alissa Vough, sophomore, Athens:
In the fall, Vough led Athens consistently during the cross country duals season, and had four top-10 finishes at invitationals, including a second-place finish at the McDaniel-Baxter Invite at Chenango Valley High School. She finished 12th at the District 4, Class AA Championships to punch her ticket to States, where she finished 72nd.

On the hardwoods,  Vough, a very good defender, averaged 6 points, 4.8 rebounds, 0.8 assists, and 2.3 steals per game.

This spring, Vough placed fourth in the 1,600-meter run, fourth in the 3,200-meter run, and eighth in the 3,200-meter run at the District 4, Class 3A Championships. At the NTL Championships, Vough placed fourth in the 1,600-meter run (5:28.38), fifth in the 800-meter run (2:28.98), and sixth in the 3,200-meter run (12:27.87).
