ATHENS — Jorey Raupers tossed five shutout innings and led Athens at the plate in an 8-1 win over Canton here Saturday afternoon in the semifinals of the District 15 Little League baseball Minors Division playoffs.

Athens scored five runs in the top of the first inning, and that was more than enough run support for Jorey Raupers and Jett Raupers, who pitched the sixth inning.

Jorey Raupers allowed one hit, while striking out nine and walking none to earn the win. Jett Raupers allowed an unearned run on one hit, while striking out three and walking none.

Jorey Raupers was 3-for-3 with a run scored and one RBI, and Jett Raupers was 2-for-2 with two runs scored to pace Athens' nine-hit attack.

Colson Bishop doubled, scored one run, and drove in one run in the win, while Briley Owens singled, scored one run, and drove in one run, Rocco Powers singled and had two RBI, and Moyer Campbell singled and knocked in one run.

Hudson Zuckerman drove in one run for Athens, and Hudson Glielmi, Cooper Birdsall, Reed Swingle each scored one run.

Athens will square off with Southern Tioga Wednesday in the winner's bracket finals.
