DISTRICT 15 LITTLE LEAGUE (11U): ATHENS WINS DISTRICT TITLE WITH 15-0 WIN OVER NTLL (24 PHOTOS) (July 7, 2026)
Valley Sports ReportATHENS — It took three days, but Athens finally finished off a 15-0 win over Northern Tier Little League here Sunday to win the District 15 Little League Baseball 11U Division championship.
Three pitchers combined on a one-hitter for Athens, and the black-and-white had eight hits and benefitted from eight NTLL miscues.
On Friday, Athens scored 11 runs in the bottom of the first inning to take control of the game, but the rains came in the second and forced the umpires to suspend play.
On Sunday, Athens scored two runs in the second inning, and closed out the game via the "mercy" rule with two more runs in the third inning.
Gio Sharpe started for Athens, and struck out two and walked one in one scoreless inning, while Maddox Kreider fanned three and allowed one hit in one inning of relief. Jase Blair finished off the game with a perfect inning of relief, striking out two.
Blair doubled and singled, and scored three runs, and Sharpe doubled and singled, scored two runs, and drove in one run to pace Athens at the plate.
Kaleb Chambers singled, scored one run, and drove in two runs in the win, while Marshall Warburton singled and scored two runs, and Declan Odell and Mason Shores each singled, scored one run, and knocked in one run.
Calvin Mosher scored two runs and drove in one run for Athens, while
Malachi Peterson scored one run and had one RBI, Bentley Stephens and Kreider each crossed the plate once, and Austin Cron had one RBI.
Athens advances to play at the Section 3 Tournament at the Hepburn-Lycoming Little League complex.
