SECTION 3 LITTLE LEAGUE (MAJORS): ROBINSON, RAUPERS POWER ATHENS TO 10-8 WIN OVER ELK LAKE IN SECTIONAL SEMIS (July 18, 2026)

BERWICK — Athens scored four runs in the bottom of the first to overcome an early deficit, and never trailed again in a 10-8 win over Elk Lake here Saturday afternoon in the opening game of the Section 3 Little League Baseball Majors Division playoffs.

Leading 4-2, Athens added to its lead with a run in the bottom of the third inning, but Elk Lake scored twice in the top of the fourth to close the gap to 5-4.

Athens answered with three runs in the bottom of the fourth, and two more in the fifth to extend the lead to 10-4.

Elk Lake took advantage of two base on balls and two hit batsman to go along with three hits to score four runs in the top of the sixth inning to trim the deficit to 10-8, but Wyatt Raupers registered a strikeout with the bases loaded for the final out of the game.

For the second time this postseason, Connor Robinson and Raupers each homered in the same game for Athens.

Robinson homered and singled, scored two runs, and had two RBI, and Raupers homered and singled, scored two runs, and drove in one run to pace Athens' nine-hit attack.

Lincoln Miller doubled, scored one run, and two RBI in the win, while Tucker Owens doubled and scored one run, Easton Hubbard singled, scored one run, and drove in two runs, Beau Hall singled, scored one run, and knocked in one run, and Leo Loziere singled and scored one run.

Parker Collum scored one run, and Landon Briggs and Klase Bardo each had one RBI for Athens.

Athens returns to action Sunday at 2 p.m. in the winner's bracket finals.
