H.S. VOLLEYBALL: TOWANDA RALLIES TO EDGE SAYRE, 2-1, IN SUMMER LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME (July 28, 2026)

TOWANDA — Towanda rallied to edge Sayre in three sets to win the championship match to conclude the Towanda Summer Volleyball League.

Sayre won the first set, 25-20, but Towanda rebounded with wins of 25-16 and 15-10 to claim the title.

Towanda, which won Pool A, swept Pool B fourth-place finisher NEB in the quarterfinals, while Sayre, the fourth seed out of a rugged Pool A, edged Pool B winner Athens, 2-1.

In the other quarter-final matches, Troy, third in Pool B, swept Pool A runner-up Wyalusing, and Pool A third-place finisher Waverly set Pool B runner-up Canton.

In the semis, Towanda swept Troy, and Sayre swept Waverly.
